# How to convert PDF to Word on Android

Convert selected PDF pages into an editable DOCX on Android, use OCR fallback for scanned pages, and understand which parts of the original layout may need tidying.

## Quick answer

PDFForge Pro on Android can turn selected PDF pages into an editable DOCX file. It extracts PDF text directly and can use OCR as a fallback for scanned pages.

## How the conversion works

1. Choose a PDF. Password-protected PDFs can be opened after successful password verification.
2. Select all pages or enter a page range.
3. PDFForge extracts structured text from each selected page.
4. If a page has little or no extractable text, Android can use an optional OCR fallback.
5. PDFForge builds a DOCX containing editable text and page breaks.

## What it preserves

- editable text
- reading order where possible
- page breaks
- approximate text sizing
- likely heading emphasis
- OCR-recognised text on supported scanned pages

## Limitations

The current converter focuses on editable text. Complex tables, multi-column layouts, images and exact page positioning are not recreated perfectly and may need manual tidying in Word.

## Availability

PDF-to-Word is currently a PDFForge Pro feature on Android. PDFForge Web does not currently advertise PDF-to-Word conversion.
